At Fite, O'Brien & Anderson, Ltd. we concentrate our practice in the area of divorce and family law.   We founded our firm in 1986 in McLean in Northern Virginia, and we have continually taken pride in protecting, furthering and advocating for the best interests of our divorce and family law clients with a commitment to personal service and a high level of professionalism in, through negotiation, mediation, Collaborative Practice and litigation.

The attorneys at Fite, O'Brien & Anderson will provide legal services for clients throughout Northern Virginia in all areas of family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and the division of marital property, assets and retirement benefits.

Kathleen O'Brien and Donald E. Anderson, III is each trained in the Collaborative Law process, which is an alternative available to parties who wish to settle divorce and family law matters in an open, private, respectful manner.  By creating an atmosphere of open communication and cooperation, the Collaborative Law process allows both parties in a divorce or family law matter to preserve their dignity while they collaboratively work towards a settlement that is acceptable to each party.

We strive to assist each client in their efforts to resolve their divorce and family law matters with a settlement, which is acceptable to our client, through the use of negotiation, mediation, or the Collaborative Practice.  However, when such means of resolution are not possible or inappropriate, we will seek to resolve divorce and family law matters through litigation to protect our client's interests.

Frances Fite, the founder of our firm, has retired from the active practice of divorce and family law, but she remains available to consult with the attorneys of the firm.
